Thank you for publishing the article on Breastfeeding higher-order multiples by Karen Berg in the Vol. 17 No. 3 issue of SUPERTWINS. I read the article while I was pregnant with my triplets and found it to be very inspiring. I felt it was important to have a positive attitude and do everything in my power to carry my babies full-term. Most articles I read online and in magazines focused on how to cope with babies in the NICU and how long the hospital stay would be.

I have Type I diabetes and am on an insulin pump which made the pregnancy even more complicated. Despite the odds, I am happy to say my babies all came home with me from the hospital after 3 days and never spent any time in the NICU. I carried them full-term and currently breastfeed them. They are 16 weeks old and doing wonderful. It was inspiring to read Karen Berg's story because it gave hope for full-term babies and breastfeeding triplets. Thank you for the inspiring article. I think it is important to make people who are pregnant with multiples aware that they don't have to assume they will have a scary experience or that their babies will all spend time on machines and in the hospital.
