MOST Privacy Policy

Mothers of Supertwins (MOST) demonstrates its commitment to our visitors', donors', and members' privacy by providing this statement. We will do everything in our power to ensure your right to privacy. We are committed to developing long lasting relationships that are built on trust. MOST will never violate that trust.


1. About the Content of the MOST Website.

This site was prepared as a service to the multiples community. MOST makes no warranty, expressed or implied, or assumes any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information or product. Reference herein to any specific commercial products, process, or service by trade name, trademark manufacturer, or otherwise, does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by MOST. The MOST website contains links to other sites. MOST is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.

  • Use of Cookies - MOST uses first-party cookies to store the preferences of users (such as remembering a forum login), only if they so choose. In the course of serving advertisements to this site, our third-party advertisers may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on users browser strictly for the purpose of making ads more relevant to MOST website visitors.
  • Website Advertising - The MOST website does include some advertising from third party organizations. Advertisments on the MOST website must comply with MOST's advertising policy (PDF), and all third-party ads are identifed on the site by the terms advertisement, sponsor, or affiliate program.
  • Legal Requirements Jurisdiction - Information on the MOST website is designed to honor, and when possible exceed, the legal requirements for protecting medical/heath information privacy as governed by laws of the United States of America.
2. Information Collected During Your Use of the Service

To become a MOST member, make a donation, participate on our MOST Family Support Forums, request free or purchased materials/products, or submit MOST research survey’s, visitors may be asked to provide contact information (such as your name, address, phone #, and email address), unique identifiers (like a username and password or MOST Member ID#), demographic information (like your state, zip code, household income, or family size), family information (like the names of children or spouses, and their date of birth), as well as relevent medical information.

Website users who choose to join MOST will be asked to complete an in depth questionnaire. Providing medical information is helpful for MOST so that we can provide families the proper support, but providing this information is optional. Users may omit personal and medical information; however some information such as a name, address, and email address may be required so that MOST can contact you with questions, verify your eligibility for participateing, and send you the information/items you request.

In addition, MOST uses software programs that collect aggregate data on website visitors to provide MOST with information about the number and nature of website hits, the country of origin of vistors, sites linking to MOST, and search engine activity. MOST also uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our site.

If you decide to purchase products or make a donation to MOST through our Supertwins Store, we will need to collect certain financial information, such as your credit card number, credit card expiration date, and billing address ("Financial Information"). Financial Information that is collected is used strictly to complete purchase transactions. MOST does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share Financial Information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete a transaction.

Currently we are using Google Analytics to analyze the audience of the
website and improve our content. No personal information is collect from Google

3. Information Submitted by Minors

The MOST Privacy Policy includes the following information as required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Participation in any part of MOST Jr. is completely voluntary. When a child or family wishes to participate by contributing personal stories, book reviews, artwork, jokes, tips, and other content on the MOST Jr. web page, MOST may collect any of the following information: name, family member’s names, ages, address, email address, telephone number, hobbies and any other information the individual wishes to include. This information is collected through online web forms, fax, email, or postal mail. Information collected passively on the MOST Jr. web page include: an IP address, browser type, and system platform, which are used internally only to generate statistics about website visitors collectively to improve the content of the MOST website and services to MOST members. MOST does not share information with third parties and requests only information relevant to participate in the activity for which the submission is intended.

Parental Disclosure:
MOST contacts all parents or guardians by phone or in writing when receiving a submission from any child under the age of 13 prior to publication on the MOST website. MOST encourages minors to discuss their participation with parents or guardians, and provides a written Parental Consent form (PDF) that parents or guardians can complete to return along with the minor’s submission. Parents are given the option to agree to the collection and use of any of the child’s information, and may, at any time, review that information, request the information be deleted, and/or refuse to allow the collection of any additional information. Parents can make those requests at the time they are contacted by MOST, by phone, email, or postal mail. Contact information is provided at the end of this policy.

4. Our Use of Your Information

MOST stores personal data submitted directly from website visitors, members, donors, professionals, survey respondents, potential members, and others in a database accessible only to the MOST staff and key board members who require access to complete their job responsibilties. MOST does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share personally identifying information from this database with any third-party organizations without explicit permission from that person to do so.

MOST uses aggregate statistics information from this database and several research databases in order to:


  • improve the services and information offered by MOST to families
  • produce public relations materials
  • make valuable information about higher-order multiples available to the general public
  • provide generalized demographic information to medical and educational professionals, advertisors and potential advertisors, and families of multiple births


These statistics never contain identifying information about individuals.

MOST uses visitor and member contact information from the submitted web forms to send information about our organization, provide member benefits that you request, and to eliminate potential respondent redundancy in our research projects. Contact information is also used for the MOST office to contact you whenever necessary.

MOST also posts, on our Multiples in the News page, stories published in mainstream media sources. These entries contain a short summary of the news article and links to the original news source and other related links included in the article. Statistics collected by our website metrics tracking program do not identify individuals and are only used to track the level of traffic on the MOST website and improve the content and navigation of the site. We may, however, use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server or in some circumstances, help protect ourselves from fraud.

To protect current members of MOST and improve our ability to support families of multiples, one of our volunteer representatives (called Area Coordinators) may contact you to explain the benefits of being a MOST member, determine how best to help your family, and provide insight into local resources once you submit contact information to MOST. If you do not wish to be contacted by a local representative, you should contact the MOST office in New York directly at (631) 859-1110.

Advertisers may use information collected by third-party cookies about your visits to this and other web sites (which will not include your name, address, email address, or telephone number) only to provide relevant advertising on this site and other sites about goods and services that may be of interest to you. No personally identifying information is ever collected by third parties unless provided directly by you on the advertisor's website (such as making a purchase.)

5. Our Disclosure of Your Information

We never share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described in this Privacy Policy without also providing you an opportunity to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. MOST will never willfully sell, lease, or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party.

MOST offers features and services on our site where information you send is publicly available, such as the public forums on the MOST Family Support Forums. Should you choose to use any of these features and services, you may have MOST volunteers and members contact you as a follow-up to your visit. Publicly available information means information you disclose in forum postings, blog posts, or other communications is available to the public on our website; therefore, if you do not wish to be identified, we recommend using discretion in revealing personal identifying information. MOST cannot ensure that all of your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not described in this Privacy Policy. For example, we may be required to disclose personally identifiable information to the government or by court order under certain circumstances. In addition, you authorize us to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.

6. Security
In order to maximize protection of your information, the MOST Site Manager uses security technology to protect your data from use, misuse, or alteration by unauthorized third parties. Currently, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol on all store purchases to protect your data and secure your transactions. SSL encrypts your credit card number and identifying information as it is transmitted over the Internet. Of course, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure, and MOST does not warrant that your information will be absolutely secure.

All information, editorial content, photos, and graphics on this site are protected by U.S. copyright and international treaties and may not be copied or distributed without the express permission of MOST® which reserves all rights.
