31. What type of research is being done, and what statistics are available on multiple births?

Only a few organizations conduct research on multiple birth research each year, and the majority of those focus on twins. Two of the more recognized research organizations include The Center for Study of Multiple Birth - known internationally as a unique resource for research and information about the causes, effects and problems of multi-fetal pregnancy, and the International Society for Twin Studies which sponsors events, publishes a journal, and maintains membership information.
