Graco has a new infant bucket out, the Snugride 30--this is NOT the same as the Snugride 32, Snugride 35, Snugride 22, or SafeSeat1. The Snugride 30 has low bottom slots ( I think 5.5") and the crotch strap has a setting just 2.5" from the back. It comes with padding that works similar to rolled recieving blankets to bolster little babies up. It's rated from 4-30 lbs. If you get one, they ship with the harness in the 2ND SLOTS, and the crotch strap in the outer position, so you'll likely need to move the harness and strap down to the smallest settings.
There are a few other infant seats out there that fit preemies well, but this one caught my attention because Triple Decker has a new version of their frame that accomodates this model! So this is the first carseat that actually fits preemies well AND can snap in to the TD...I think that's awesome! Oh and it retails something like $120-130 depending on trim. Babies R Us exclusive for the first 6 months, and I think it came out in maybe October? So it will be hitting other stores soon I expect.
The base is very narrow, I think 14" but there is a part on the carrier that flares out so it's a little wider than 14" for installing 3 across. The base is square like the Chicco Keyfit base.
I'm not sure what other features there are just wanted to get the word out to all you who are expecting triplets. (And no, I don't work for Graco, I'm a carseat/stroller nerd and I think it's GREAT that you don't have to choose between convenience and safety for trips anymore!)
