I remember reading a piece about a mom who was talking to her 2nd grade daughter on their walk home from school. The little girl told her mom that she learned today how to make babies. The mom stopped in her tracks and tried to gather her thoughts, clear her mind and to be open to whatever the little girl said. She was not planning on having this talk today but whatever- go with the flow. Her parenting guide on talking to your children about sex flashed through her mind and she could not remember a thing. So finally she asked her daughter what she had learned and the little girl answered, "Mom, it sounds so easy -- all you have to do is drop the y and add ies."
