Did any of you bank your triplets cord blood? With which company? and did you do it for all 3?
I banked my 10 month old daughter's.... not sure if doing it again plus doing it for all 3 is worth it? |

My kids are almost seven, but when they were born, the OBGYN's wouldn't agree to do it. They said they wouldn't have time. _________________ Patti Tessler

My kids were born 14 years ago, so wasn't an issue back then, but I have been discussing this with someone who is pregnant with triplets and here is a synopsis of what she has discovered.
"yesterday I had a consult the medical director of the NICU. One of the topics of our discussion concerned the cord blood registry. Well, her opinion is that it is a 'crock'. She said that she has asked her oncology and hemotology collegues about this, and not one of them was in favor of it. They said that since u basically send it off in the mail (they send u a kit to salvage it during surgery), they have no idea how it was stored and if it is even from your baby! They felt that there is just not enough info out there about it to claim it's legitamacy. Not to mention--when they r salvaging the cord blood, there is more bleeding involved--which is a great risk to any mother, but more so to a multiple birth mom. Each cord salvage takes about 5 minutes extra, something most doctors are not going to agree to (with good reason).
Hope this helps.
